Brocklesby Show -
Once again, we have been invited to run the Have-a-go shoot at the Brockelsby Country Show. This will take place on Sunday 22nd June 2008. As usual the Club would appreciate as many Archers as possible to volunteer to help out. The more Archers that help out, the bigger the chance everyone will have to have a look around.

 The Old and the New

The next two images are reflections of our recent history. The left hand image is one I took early on when we were at Bottesford. The second was taken on the second time out at Barnetby Top. Because of this move, the club how has access to trees and woods, and there is now a growing, thriving Field Section (The 100Yard Club - please use the link at the top of the page for further information)

This site is a co-op type production between Smudgersworld (that'll be me), the Anchor Bowmen Of Scunthorpe and The 100 Yard Club.

This is a site for the encouragement, and support of, the sport of Archery.

I'm an ordinary type of fella - no one special. But for all here at "Chez Smudger" Archery is a family sport. And we also have the full range of involvement with the sport - ranging from full
competition, all the way through to social shooting - if, and when, the fancy takes. Although the kids really where the start of our family involvement (via a School Have-a-go) we have now been shooting for over four years now..

In that time my Daughter has become a compulsive competition shooter (with her lightning Blue Hoyt Rintec Compound), I am now the Club Secretary and
occasional competition shooter (Dad just got fed up of solely being the taxi), my lad is a very tall Footballer / Longbow archer, who has taken somewhat of a fancy to
the Field Shooting, and my wife shoots Recurve/American Long Bow (when work allows).

This shows you how diverse Archery can be, there are so many
options.

If you wish to b e competitive, there are competitions galore. If you like a good "natter" its has a social aspect too.
